  • I think those bastards aren’t playing with a full deck. To think that their small vessels and a few men could actually capture a navy vessel watching to many Stephen Segal movies.

It was the USS Nicholas. Rules of engagement are not to fire unless fired upon and while they have a compliment of weapons that could easily take out this vessel they only used force necessary with warning shots and then lethal to get pirates to abandon vessel; so yes they were playing with them but a captain has to justify force and expenditure of weapons and had they wasted US tax payer money on more advanced weapons system the captain would have to answer for that and be seen as somewhat irresponsible by his peers and commanding officers thus risking his career for using poor judgment and unnecessary force.

Warning shots. Until they were fired upon. Then the shots got right onto that boat.

there was no such attempted because the ship was no where in sight from the boat they blowup after possibly 100 shots.

I hope they were just playing with them for a while. Mickulek with a 2″ revolver could have bettered the hit ratio at least under 50-100 yds! 🙂

Just kidding. It was rough seas, there is no tight grouping under those circumstances.

Ummm… But give Jerry a long barreled S&W 500 revolver, and watch out!

Just having fun here, it was truly one of those happy endings we all love.

If that’s a US Navy ship, why are they such horrible shooters? You can see lots of bullets hitting the water not even close to those little boats. How come they didn’t use a minigun?

    • Standard loadout for surface action teams are the .50 cal machine gun and the 25mm chain gun. The reason that they are such “horrible shooters” is because even though it looks like smooth seas, the firing platform is still moving up and down. Its not as easy as one would think.
