The 4-part series follows four men aged between 18 and 22 from their basic training in Catterick, North Yorkshire to their destiny in Helmand province, where several of them will end up fighting for their lives. With news of death and destruction from the frontline being a continuous cause of concern, Afghanistan is never far from the minds of the recruits.
