Russian Mi-14 helicopter crashes while attempting water take off during training exercise

During a joint training exercise with Japan in May 2006, a Russian Mi-14 helicopter crashed, killing one and injuring 3. The crashed occurred off the Russian island of Sakhalin, north of Japan’s Hokkaido, when one of its rotor blades hit the water during exercises  sending the helicopter flying forward.
